Australia has issued stamps to honour many different sports since its first sports issue in 1954 for the Melbourne 1956 Olympics, but the earliest Australian postmark with a sporting connection is the 1920 postmark of the Anzac Rifle Range near Liverpool, NSW. Postal stationery and advertising envelopes are much older.
